Duruflé Pie Jesu 1

2026
Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas
20" x 40"
Series: Duruflé Pie Jesu

The words Pie Jesu were the underpinning of this work.

Horizontal abstract acrylic painting dominated by angular black shapes on a white ground. Blurred orange and yellow oil pastel lines show beneath the black, with light tan areas and large netlike pale red marks layered across the surface. Words from the Pie Jesu text, initially drawn in oil pastel, are largely obscured.
