Respighi Pines 1

2024
Acrylic on canvas
24" x 24"
Series: Respighi Pines

Music shapes from the Pines of Rome were the basis of this painting.

Abstract acrylic painting on canvas dominated by vivid blues, with contrasting areas of orange, red, yellow, green, black, and pale aqua. Layered geometric and gestural shapes overlap across the composition, with small swatches and curved marks distributed throughout. Pumice medium creates a granular texture, while scraped and layered paint adds varied surface patterns and relief. The artist’s signature appears near the lower right.
