Oil on cradled wood panel
16" x 20"
Series: Duruflé Pie Jesu

Words from the Duruflé Pie Jesu movement are underneath this painting. The words translated to color and texture as I worked.

Abstract oil painting on a cradled wood panel with a subdued gray-green ground. Layered swatches of muted orange, yellow, lavender, blue, and pale green form a loose central composition. Active gestural brushstrokes and parallel palette-knife scrapings create varied lines, textures, and areas of movement across the surface.
