Sound Arc

2025
Acrylic and paper on canvas
8" x 8"
Series: Bach Cello Suites

This is a miniaturized Bach 1st Suite Prelude, a lifetime staple for cellists.

Small abstract mixed-media painting on canvas in dusty blue, pale green, and yellow. Layered paper and acrylic create a textured surface with pale patches and areas of exposed or distressed texture. Black curved arcs and gestural brush marks cross the composition, suggesting musical notation.
