Water Gigue

2024
Oil on canvas
24" x 30"
Series: Bach Cello Suites

I started to lose the music patterns and discovered hidden places as I painted. I was not expecting water, but it showed up.

Abstract oil painting in pink, gold, aqua, and pale tones. Layered brushstrokes and translucent patches create a fluid, water-like composition. Small pale-tinted, rounded forms drift across the surface, interspersed with aqua and dark gestural lines. The artist’s signature, “Milan,” appears at lower right.
