The Appian Way is the basis for this painting and the final of three in this Respighi group.

Abstract acrylic painting on canvas dominated by blue, with large yellow, green, red, pale aqua, and white forms layered across the composition. Broad angular and curved gestures overlap and extend toward the foreground, while smaller blue, green, and gold patches appear within and behind the larger forms. Pumice-textured areas and scraped paint create a richly varied surface. The artist’s signature appears near the lower right.
